Research & Development

At TMR&D, we embark on both Basic and Applied Research activities. TMR&D has aligned its Research programs to support the strategic theme of the organization that covers various technological focused areas. Technological trends are charted along with the business requirements for present and future market conditions. Eight research programs which covers both the Basic & Applied research are aligned to suit the current trend of technology and ever changing business requirements.

Each research program will chart technology trends as well as the business requirements for present and future market conditions. A brief description of each research program’s focus area has been included.

Basic Research

The research activities conducted under the umbrella of Basic Research are mostly related to the development of nano and micro sized device for electronic and photonic application.

The focus is on design simulation, fabrication technology development, testing to meet standard and quality regiment as well as system integration. Products resulting from these activities are incorporated into our Applied Research activities, in particular for wireless 3G research program and Photonics in Next Generation Network (NGN). There are four programs established under the Basic Research Division:

Applied Research

The widespread use of IP has resulted in the convergence of these three separate networks into a single network or generally known as Next Generation Network.

The Applied Research Division at TMR&D is specifically established to design and develop innovative products and application for mobile telephony, mobile data and wireless services. The convergence of these three networks into a single IP-based network is one of our prime objectives. The technology programs established under Applied Research are:
