We have ventured into various fields of research in ICT and since its incorporation TMR&D has been the reference center in addressing the emerging ICT industry for TM and its group of companies.

We have done research works on several key technologies and some of the R&D products have been turned into applications and systems that were internally used in TM to generate new services and at the same time these products have great potential for outside commercial use. Among others are the command and control engine which is at the heart of application called Integrated Building Management System (IBMS), designed to manage our 77 storey Menara TM.

A biometric authentication engine, around which application known as ID Secure has been developed to manage physical access of people using the biometric information such as iris, thumbprint and dynamic signature, for personal authentication. To date, more than twenty research products have been filed for patent and a dozen more have been granted with Industrial Design or Layout Design. As strategic research program are highly interdisciplinary, we have also collaborated with local and foreign universities and institution to support the long-tem R&D in ICT.
