Broadband Technologies and Networking

Overview

The seminar will analyse the reasons for demand on high speed, mobility as well as the different emerging applications. It will focus on wire-line and wireless access technologies. In the technology part, the focus are on the four leading access technologies - Cable, ADSL, WBA (including WiFi / WiMax) and GSM (2.5G and 3G). Topics such as ADSL, ADSL2+, GPRS and EDGE will be discussed. Advantages and disadvantages of these competing technologies are summarising at the end of seminar.
