Overview |
Due to the proliferation of the internet, the IP network has now become the most widely used network. The IP network which utilize internet protocol or TCP/IP protocol, enable data to be transmitted within local area network and across wide area network seamlessly. It provide a common unifying communication framework that support various physical network working with a variety of operating system, application and services. In order to exploit the full benefit offered by IP network, in depth understanding of its complexities and technicalities are important.
This course will introduce the TCP/IP protocol suite used in an IP network. Physical and logical network design that address issues related to addressing and naming will be covered. Common IP network services such as World Wide Web, email, and file transfer protocol are also included. The internet has been increasingly being used to transport multimedia data such as voice and video. Thus, multimedia services over IP network and the latest IPV6 are introduced as well. Participants will be exposed to TCP/IP protocol and network through practical activities and hands on session in order to enhance their understanding of the subject.
