Controlling devices via SMS

Overview:

This course will give hands on training on programming devices with microcontroller embedded firmware. The programming will be done in PIC BASIC language. Participants will know to program a microchip IC and make commands for reading SMS, controlling remote switches via SMS and also transmitting an SMS. This application can be extended for remote data acquisition, home security, home automation and anything that SMS can be applied to.

Technical staff working with programming harware

Pre-requisite

1) Have learned any programing language and know algorithm or program basic flow

2) Targetted harware board (1 sample of TM own development board will be used, inclusive of one GSM and IC programmer)

3) Have seen circuit drawing and know IC

• Make basic programing in PIC BASIC
• Able to program to make GSM transmit and read SMS
• Able to program for controlling switches via SMS
• Know serial com and Hyper Terminal display
