Our journey began in the early 1980s as a division, and in 2000 we were incorporated as a company. Today, TM R&D has grown into a world-class research and innovation powerhouse, having commercialised more than 18 solutions deployed across TM and external enterprises, delivering millions in savings through improved operational efficiency and support.

With a strong focus on Smarter Platforms, AI & Digital, and Autonomous Networks, we help businesses solve operational challenges and co-create solutions for the global market.

At a Glance

Established in 2000, TM R&D is a world-class research and innovation arm of TM Group; with a special focus on Intelligent Connectivity, Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, IoT and Digital Platforms. The organisation helps businesses to solve operational issues and co-create solutions for the global market. In 2022, TM initiated the merger of MMU and TM R&D to align the strategic objectives of both the university and the research company. This merger consolidated the academic and commercial research activities under one roof enabling TM R&D to lead a dynamic research ecosystem from academia to commercialisation and export. Most importantly, this alignment shall propel MMU towards becoming a Research-led Industry-driven University (RIU).

To date, TM R&D has commercialised +18 solutions and deployed in TM and external enterprises saving the Group millions in operational efficiency and support. Additionally, TM R&D has generated more than 2,800 Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) with 100 percent adoption of all its innovations since 2016.
