Strategic Role:
• To execute research & development activities in research division based on the project assignment and role in an integrated, timely, cost effective and high quality manner in accordance with division’s strategic and operating objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver research projects under Software Backend Laboratory related to software backend technologies such as microservices, web services, database, Big Data platforms, cloud, and virtualization technologies.
• Work independently and provide adequate software backend support to project team.
• Support IPR initiatives such as scientific paper publication, patent and copyright where applicable.
Requirements:
1. Mimimum a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science / Computer Network / Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering or similar qualifications with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
2. Strong web development skills with emphasis on Python, Java, and SQL.
3. Strong knowledge with web services using SOAP and REST API.
4. Familiar with cloud and virtualization technologies in Linux environment, such as CentOS, Ubuntu, Virtual Box, and Docker.
5. Familiar with professional software development process such as continuous integration, unit testing, debug techniques, and Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
6. Good knowledge of database development such as data mining, data security, database design, database programming, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
7. Experienced with scaling software services and related performance and security tests.
8. Experience with Big Data platform such as Cloudera/HortonWorks Hadoop is a plus.
9. Good knowledge of new and upcoming software technologies such as NodeJS, ReactJS, responsive web, microservices.
10. Passionate about research and incoming scientific technologies.
11. Strong background in research backed by list of publication, research project, IPR activities or scientific award/honour.
12. Strong team work qualities and able to perform under minimum supervision, able to work independently and deliver quality work under tight deadlines.
13. Excellent communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
