TM R&D in collaboration with TM Mass Market Marketing Operation, have successfully established the Advanced Internet Lighting Application (AILA) experience center at TM Convention Centre (TMCC). This space will be used to create an awareness not only among TM employees, demonstrate the technology capabilities for potential commercialisation, technology partners but also other interested parties such as policy makers. AILA’s experience center was officiated by YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani after the ‘Jom Bersama’ session in the month of November 2015.
A Malaysian made broadband connectivity technology is being piloted in Taman Semenyih Permai and Bandar Tasik Kesuma. The previously underserved community of 24 users are currently enjoying triple play broadband (data, voice and video) services. The successful Fiberhome collaboration starting with a Joint Innovation Lab in 2014, also won the Best Broadband Partnership Award at the 2014 Broadband Infovision Awards in Amsterdam. The innovative RoF technology enables longer reach and faster deployment of TM’s network in areas that are beyond traditional connectivity coverage.
The recent ASIA IoT Business Platform was another arena that successfully demonstrated TM R&D as an active participant and contributor in the field of M2M/IoT. Held in Pullman KLCC from 3-4 Nov 2015, the two-day event saw 432 industry stakeholders from over 150 companies gathering to exchange knowledge, share & learn. TM R&D proudly showcased products such as AILA, AURA, M2M & CCube.
Speakers during this session came from of 20 local, regional and international experts in IoT and M2M industry. Discussions dedicated to plan for government, telco companies and other IoT stakeholders were held. Dr. Gopi and Dr. Ettikan were among the invited speakers who represented TM R&D. Dr. Gopi was also one of the panelist in an open discussion that concentrates on Malaysia’s M2M/IoT current developments, projects, opportunities and strategies to move forward while Dr. Ettikan presented on Connecting Information Systems of Government Agencies to Facilitate Smart City Vision.
This was a good event that helped to nurture IoT knowledge and networked relevant players to discuss the IoT implementation strategies.
